Job Role:

We are looking for an organised, resilient and proactive trainee solicitor to provide a high level of professional support to the fee earners as well as other members of the firm. The candidate will be technically excellent and will be expected to be flexible to cover the broader remit of the firm. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, show outstanding attention to detail and have the ability to multitask and handle various demands. It is vital that candidate is a team player with a positive hard-working approach. All candidates must either have completed the LPC or be due to complete the LPC in summer 2015.

The firm is looking for a candidate to start work immediately as a paralegal and to commence a training contract in July 2015 subject to satisfactorily completing a probationary period. The trainee will be given the opportunity to develop technical and social skills and to take on substantial responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Awareness of Fee Earners’ workloads.

Act as a first point of contact for Fee Earners.

Maintain effective communications with clients and Fee Earners.

Process relevant applications, forms and searches.

Prioritise and deal with incoming correspondence from clients/other solicitors.

Carry out instructions on client matters.

Research new clients/contacts and prepare agenda before meetings.

Conduct research.

Draft documentation and correspondence to clients/other solicitors.

Maintain files and ensure that matters are dealt with efficiently.

Liaise with secretary on admin matters.

Draft transaction and corporate documents

Be aware of personal and firm financial objectives/ performance.

Ensure that all matters are dealt with in a professional way.

Attend and present in-house and external seminars.

Use initiative and be proactive in developing and building relationships.

Promote the brand and become a firm ambassador.

Develop the role in line with business needs.

Special aspects:

Hours 9:30h to 18:00h from Monday to Friday but it is essential to be flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary.

20 Days Holiday plus Bank Holiday.

Starting Date as soon as possible (flexible).

Salary will be as follows:

  • Period from present to commencement of Training Contract (July 2015), £20,000 pa
  • First year of training contract, £23,000 pa
  • Second year of training contract, £25,000 pa

In each case subject to any upwards payment reviews awarded from time to time.
